On October 27 and 28, the North Gwinnett Arts Association, Inc., will host the 4th annual Plein Air Event. “Plein Air” is a French term that means painting in the open air, working directly from the landscape/cityscape as it appears at that moment. We plan to expand this concept by 
inviting artists of different mediums to participate – photographers and mixed media artists. If you derive inspiration from the open environment surrounding you, creating your artwork in the open air, then you can participate!
All participating artists will work for two days within the City of Suwanee. The Plein Air Event will culminate on Sunday evening, October 28, with a reception at Ippolito’s. During this reception the art will be available for viewing and for purchase.
Artists will use their personalized styles in pursuit of the common goal of capturing scenes of Suwanee as quickly as possible before the movement of the sun and clouds alter the lighting and colors of the view. Visitors are invited to watch the artists at work. Some artists are eager to talk about their work while they are creating. Others are so engrossed that they may be unaware of any onlookers. In both cases, watching an artwork develop under the capable hand of an artist is a fascinating experience.
